Pierrette Charbonnier. Bathroom Sink. October 09th , 2017.
One of the most common and economical bathroom sink styles is the drop-in sink. This style fits into a hole in a vanity cabinet or sink stand, and it can be easily installed or removed. A common material for a drop-in sink is affordable porcelain, but these sinks are available in a wide range of materials, from plastic to metal to glass.
Defined by their custom mounting underneath counters or tabletops, undermount sinks sit seamlessly on the surface of the sink counter without any discernible lip or overhang. They offer a stylish, modern visual appeal combined with the convenience of not having to clean an overhanging sink lip, which can gather debris and dirt over time.
Vanities are basically sink and faucet arrangements installed on cabinets. As a unit, all components reflect a specific style, such as contemporary, traditional and transitional, and surrounding accessories—shelves, mirrors, etc.—usually are available as parts of a holistic vanity suite. With its furniture DNA, the bathroom vanity becomes a strong design element that sets the tone for the entire bathroom.
Architectural salvage stores are usually well-stocked with older pedestal sinks that feature one-of-a-kind designs at a modest price.
